Ideas to make your wedding as green as possible:
Certified Green Globe 21 resorts - pick a resort brand or hotel chain that cares about sustainable tourism and travel, reduces waste, is energy efficient, supports local community development and more. Click here to search for Green Globe 21 certified resorts and hotels worldwide.- Off set your carbon emissons from air travel, purchase carbon credits.
- Print invitations on recycled paper or better yet skip paper and postage and set up a wedding website and email your guests the link.
- Buy your wedding dress and suit in organic material that you can wear again.
- Register your wedding registry with a charity.
- Have a unique wedding favor that lets your guests know how much you appreciate them by making a charitable donation in their name.
- Have small gifts for your guests made by local artisans.
- Use local flowers instead of choices found in a florist shop only
- Take one day and organize a group trip for your guests to volunteer together at a nearby school or church in order to help out a local community.
