Clients of mine, Alex and Amanda have returned from their wonderful honeymoon in Fiji!  Here is their feedback!

Wedding date: July 24th, 09

Honeymoon date: July 26th – Aug 10

Location: Fiji (Pearl South Pacific week 1 & Mana Island Resort  on week 2)

Why did you pick this location/resort:

Main reason was to experience a once in a life time honeymoon in a tropical exotic location. Basically the idea came from looking at Tahiti honeymoon pictures and realizing the price was to much to handle especially with wedding costs in the same credit card. After searching around the south pacific, the decision came down to two destinations: Fiji or the Cook Islands. Fiji had more to choose from and the resorts seemed more welcoming. As we were planning for a two week honeymoon, we wanted to be able to do some exploring, partying and relaxation.

The first week (the pearl south pacific), we wanted to do the activity items, such as scuba, jet-skiing, golfing, exploring the capital city Suva, exploring other islands through day trips, and snorkeling. The Pearl South Pacific is the place to stay if you want a little more activity. Although, I recommend going there in Fiji's summer season, as we were there in the winter it was a little cooler. Staff and support staff were extremely nice, they'll go out of the way to help you and stay out of your way when you want quality time.

The second week, Mana island resort, considered the upper class high end of island resorts world wide, this is just one of the amazing places that you'll see the famous pictures of Fiji advertised. I highly recommend  honeymoon or romantic holiday couples to destin their vacation in the Mamanuca islands or the Yasawa islands by far.

We went in the Fiji winter, which only means that that the average temp. is 2 degrees colder, which doesn't account for much, so that being said winter or summer these islands are going to be hot and sunny.
The thing with these small islands is that they are so small they can't generate enough humidity, which means it's very rare to see clouds. As compared to the Pearl which was located on the Viti Levu, it seemed there was always some sort of shower there everyday.

Best moment of the honeymoon: Mamanuca Islands (arriving at Mana Island gave me shivers keeping in mind it was 40 degrees.)

Advice to future honeymooners:

GO for two weeks, no less. Learn the culture, ask questions and drink their Fiji Bitter (Beer). I would also recommend staying on the Viti Levu island in their summer which is the Canadian winter, since rain is a factor, but well worth the experience and to expereince the Mamanuca islands.

Testimonial:

Was a pretty excellent planned honeymoon, I didn't have to worry about anything. We have recommended you to about 4 or 5 couples.

Pictures:
Look at their gorgeous pictures of Mana Island, Mana Island's Wedding Pavilion over the Pacific ocean and the beaches!!
